Personal Injury Law could be broken into two major categories depending on the circumstances for the injury: acts caused by negligence and intentional acts, also called trots.
Injury caused by negligence is an act caused by a person who did not intend to cause harm to anyone, but had been careless for the safety of other people. Some of the most common case accidents caused by negligence are: automobile accidents, "slip and fall" accidents resulting from improper design or maintenance, and medical malpractice actions.
Intentional injuries occur when a person intends to commit and commits a wrongful act and as a result of this act there is an injury. As trots are regarded assault and battery, child abuse and defamation of character.
Injuries at work: responsible for injuries at work could be employers, colleagues or "third party" such as the manufacturer of unsafe machinery, the owner of the premises where the injury occurs, etc. |
