Workers’ Compensation Laws were passed so that workers (employees) who have been injured can receive certain financial compensation. This eliminates the need for a lawsuit. The Workers’ Compensation Law also makes provisions for compensations to the relatives of a killed or injured construction worker. The State Workers’ Compensation Law makes provisions for most professions, while the Federal Workers’ Compensation Law was created for federal employees and Interstate commerce workers.

Compensation is provided in a case when it is proven that there was no intention in the accident or the worker has not been under the influence of drug or alcoholic substances.

The usual practice is that the impaired workers will receive two thirds of their regular salary while being at work or more compensation could be provided in case of long term physical damage.
